Our New Curriculum for Wales

The video below outlines our Vision for the New Curriculum here at Ysgol Glan Gele:

School Vision

Our mission statement and school aims have been created by our children, staff, governors and parents. We are a community school who put well-being at the heart of all we do and we are committed to ensuring that every child can reach their full potential and thrive. Our vision is 'Learning Has No Boundaries', bringing together how our pupils will be provided with high quality learning experiences which prepare them to be life-long learners.

Our Mission Statement

At Ysgol Glan Gele learning has no boundaries. We have high expectations for ourselves and each other and are all given the opportunity to succeed. We are kind and respectful, proud of our Welsh culture and value our differences. We enjoy fun and authentic learning in a rich indoor and outdoor environment. We have the confidence to take risks, make mistakes and challenge ourselves to be the best we can be. Innovative teaching and learning prepare us for a successful future to lead happy, healthy lives.

The Glan Gele Four Purposes

At Ysgol Glan Gele, we have catered the Four Purposes to our school context. We develop learners who are:

Ambitious Capable Learners

Healthy Confident Individuals

Enterprising Creative Contributors

Ethical Informed Citizens

who challenge themselves to find out new things, building their knowledge and using it in different ways. They are proud of their Welsh culture, learning to communicate confidently in English and Welsh. who know how to be safe, ready and respectful; keeping themselves healthy whilst growing in independence and taking risks. They respect other countries and cultures and can celebrate how we are the same and different. who enjoy investigating and solving problems, talking about what they like and dislike and creating products for a purpose. They can work with others, bringing enthusiasm, skills and confidence. who know their rights and the impact they have on people and their environment. They know what is going on in the world around them and understand how they can protect the planet.
